Cut me out

My affection towards unconventional shoes has been going on since the old Dunia Fashyon days, and you know I'm always on the look for unique, wearable shoes. But unfortunately the nature of my work only allows me to wear such footwear outside of working hours - hence the onslaught of conservative/classic-looking shoes on Dunia Fashyon Instagram as they are snapped during the odd few minutes of break in-between patient appointment.

Not to mention that one of the best things about searching for that said shoe category is the random stumbling into attractive design from the opposite gender as well. When I was shoe shopping for Raya I managed to grab these Dr Martens cut out Oxfords at a reasonable bargain, only after going from one store stocking that model in the Gardens to another one in Fahrenheit 88, and lady luck was on my side as I managed to hold on to the last pair in the store.

Of course the tribulations of wearing girls' shoes linger on (they do look a bit narrow and pointy for my taste, and it only occurred to me at first glance they do look like a pair of Mary Janes). Nevertheless I hope my wide stubby feet will be fairly well ventilated thanks to the generous cut-out detail, and hopefully the rather subversive style of the shoes will allow me some room to play around with wardrobe versatility. I'm sensing more dark outfit posts in the near future!
